Three decades ago, almost to the date, I met you and your fine staff in an office in Lehigh Acres. I remember this because my daughter had just been born and she is turning thirty next week.
At the time, I was very discouraged about the state of affairs of the hearing aid business in Southwest Florida. I had been wearing hearing aids since I was six years old and never felt like the people who were selling me hearing aids even cared about their patients. It always felt like I had gone to an auto parts store and had picked up an expensive new engine. Once I was outside the door, they moved on to the next customer. Buyer beware mentality continued with each subsequent sales office. Nothing lasted more than six months without having to be repaired for hundreds of dollars. Some places did not even last long enough to provide good continued service. Many never matched their sales pitches of excellent customer service.
But that all changed in June of 1994. During my first visit, I learned of your hearing aid leasing program. From that point on, each and every hearing aid that you provided me was top-notch and so very much more superior than any other hearing aid I ever worn. The hearing aids you provided allowed me to move on in my life in a positive direction. I was able to hear well in all sorts of venues. They helped me gain the confidence to speak in front of large groups and – gasp – take questions from the audience. They allowed me the ability to not just watch a movie at the theatre but know what the actors were saying. Many doors opened for me and a lot of the credit goes to the excellent hearing aids that you prescribed to me. Not only were they excellent, I rarely had any issues with them with the exception of routine tube changings.
When I needed service, I knew that all I had to do was show up and I was given unmatched quality customer service. Each technician over the years always treated me with kindness and respect.
The last hearing aid you provided me, which I have included with my letter, has lasted for years and the quality was always excellent.
Recently, I received a cochlear implant in my right ear. Years ago you brought up that I would eventually qualify for one and that statement came true. As part of cochlear device I was able to obtain a matching hearing aid for my left ear that streams together with my cochlear device. As such, I am returning my leased hearing aid to you with a hundred-fold thanks for the quality, the service, and your kindness over the years.
